December 6 ,2019
5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In order to pay tribute to the victims of the massacre at the École polytechnique, a luminous tribute composed of 14 beams in honour of the victims is projected each year on December 6, in the Montreal sky since 2014. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of this national tragedy, UQAT will participate in a major commemoration where 14 Canadian universities with a School of Engineering will demonstrate their desire to ensure that Canadian society remains strong and united against violence and injustice.
5:00 p.m.: Start of short speeches outside, in front of the UQAT campus in Rouyn-Noranda. * Please note that if weather conditions do not allow speeches to be held outside, they will be held inside, in the entrance to the Rouyn-Noranda campus.
5:15 p.m.: UQAT lights up the sky.
5:20 p.m.: Live listening to the main ceremony in Montreal on a giant screen
6:00 p.m.: End of the ceremony
