Circuit art public à vélo (pdf) In French
Since 2015, Rouyn-Noranda's public space is enriched with more and more public artworks. Whether they are municipal or private initiatives, sculptures, murals or bas-reliefs, their presence brings new value to living spaces and takes over the streets and alleys to add a significant dose of sense and beauty.
The tour proposed here is an overview of 15 of these artworks created by different artists, the majority living in Rouyn-Noranda or in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. They have been selected in order to offer the visitor a variety of proposals with resolutely contemporary and daring esthetics.
The curious visitor, by opening his eyes, will discover other artworks that unfold in the scenery and that are worth seeing. Public art is a contagious asset. It can be surprising or mysterious, it multiplies over the seasons, but above all, it is generous. It's up to you to find it!
This tour begins on avenue Murdoch and ends on avenue Dallaire. You can do it by car, bicycle or on foot.
Google Maps links refer you to the address of the site where the works are located. Use them to get around.
The Google Street View links allow you to know from which point of view the works can be observed.
