Exhibition by Johannie Séguin

May 7 to 29, 2021

5 to 7 p.m. meeting on May 7

Exhibition from May 7 to 29, 2021.

In contradiction with the very essence of our contemporaneity where productivity and speed are advocated, she explores a form of performance on temporality in painting. The complete detachment from the paradigms of time and space, the obsession with a level of perfection and the expected accuracy are experienced as a form of requirement. Thus, images taken from the everyday become compositions that disrupt their reception and alter the representation of reality. From there, reality and fiction are confused, which complicate and intersect the reading.
