L’Écart is an artist-run centre in contemporary art that promotes all visual arts disciplines. It supports professional artists whose approach is based on a sustained practice in contemporary art. It is also a place of artists’ residency, research and creation. L’Écart produces the Biennale d’art performatif de Rouyn-Noranda. It promotes the professionalization of emerging artists and facilitates exchanges between local artists and the national arts community.
