6:30 p.m.
Films being shown:
– Bulldozer / 1974 / Directed by Pierre Harel / 93 min
Synopsis: Released in 1974 after three years of struggle and clandestine production, Bulldozer is now a cult film. And a rare one. Starring Mouffe and Donald Pilon, this “cursed work” is a kind of “rock opera of the downtrodden” whose plot is set in an Abitibi landfill.
– BEAT / 1976 / Directed by André Blanchard / 65 min
Synopsis: Drugs, love, and violence: the lust for life of a certain segment of youth in downtown Rouyn-Noranda in the 1970s.
– Hiver Bleu / 1979 / Directed by André Blanchard / 81 min
Synopsis: Two young women leave their small hometown in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. The younger sister finds a job in a restaurant in Rouyn, hoping to quickly earn enough to travel to South America. The older sister increasingly neglects her studies at Cégep and discovers the realities of working-class life and socialist ideals.
