BHM – Lumumba Special

As part of Black History Month, the Rouyn-Noranda Municipal Library, in collaboration with COCAT-RDC and Africulture Production, is offering a cultural and educational activity dedicated to Patrice Emery Lumumba, a prominent figure in contemporary history and the first Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This event aims to raise awareness of Patrice Lumumba’s life, thought, and historical legacy, as well as his role in 20th-century African independence movements.

 

Program:

  • Historical presentation
  • Screening of a short documentary
  • Reading of a text
  • Question and answer session with the audience
  • Social gathering with refreshments

 

This activity is for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of world history, key figures in African heritage, and the transmission of historical memory.
