Valéry Hamelin
Dissolving history
In this exhibition, the artist makes the transition from a practice more in touch with dark childhood memories to a more externalized view of the world around him. The environment and elements of the territory are explored through her own experiences to create suspended universes in pictorial space. His interest in the ephemeral nature of the present moment is crystallized in drawing and painting. Through evocative gestures such as piercing, tearing, gluing and rubbing, the boundaries between body, herbarium and architecture are blurred, creating closer links between human beings and nature.
