Philosophical Vivarium
A group of tourists arrive at a theater without a care for decorum. By turns reserved or expansive, clumsy or careless, the four companions explore the space, jostling it and forgetting themselves in the rhythm of ordinary little accidents. At once philosophical and impulsive, their impulses leave nothing untouched.
With their biting stage writing, Alix Dufresne and Étienne Lepage, skilled creative comrades, shake up social as well as theatrical conventions, and play with the porosity between stage and audience. Strange and playful, Malaise in Civilization reveals complex, captivating beings who innocently venture to the edge of moral values. Endearing and… disturbing!
