This tightly-crafted maritime huis clos, for discerning ears, tells the story of Sébastien (Marc Fournier) and Bruno (Stéphane E. Roy), two long-time friends who find themselves (after years of not seeing each other) in an all-inclusive in Cuba. The trip soon goes awry. Claudia, Sébastien’s partner, plunges headlong into alcohol. Bruno realizes it was a mistake to invite Mia, whom he’d just met at a happy hour.
Seven days unaccompanied can be a long time. To get some fresh air and distance, the two men decide to take a pedal-boat outing. A short hour on the sea, during which they talk intimately about their lives, disappointments, hopes and sex.
But the trip doesn’t go as planned: the pedalo breaks down, Sébastien and Bruno are lost somewhere off the coast of Cuba, and it’s already getting dark. The situation becomes dramatic, and the surprises are just beginning…
