historian Benoît-Beaudry Gourd and Steve Bergeron, director of the Rouyn-Noranda regional airport, will present a lecture as part of the Belles Soirées series on the evolution of commercial aviation, from the first regular service between Angliers and Osisko Lake in 1924 to the present day, including the bush aviation companies based at Osisko Lake in the 1930s and 1940s, and the construction of the Rouyn airport in 1949. Numerous archival and more recent photos will illustrate the presentation.
Thanks to the financial support of the Quebec government and the City of Rouyn-Noranda under the Entente de développement culturel, this lecture will be recorded and later presented on the Historical Society’s YouTube channel.
