How do you live with an autistic child?
Maude has a daughter with autism spectrum disorder. Seeking to understand and support her daughter, Maude soon realizes that she faces enormous challenges. By documenting the failings of the healthcare system, then those of the education system, Maude gradually came to realize her own limitations.
How to listen to and understand her daughter? How can she help her while accepting her difference? How can she learn from her difference? For this intimate, introspective documentary, Porte Parole reunites with Maude Laurendeau, with Julie Le Breton playing the part of the many people who cross Maude’s and her daughter’s path: health professionals, teachers and specialized educators, friends, parents of autistic children…
