SOUND EXPLORATION IN THE HEART OF THE CARIBBEAN
Curator: Giscard Bouchotte
The group exhibition SONS MÊLÉS presents the work of artists and groups of artists with very different approaches, whose common point is to consider sound traditions in the mirror of contemporary performances. The exhibition takes as its starting point the sonic chaos of Port-au-Prince, a city where creativity and urban cacophony explode. How do artists seize upon this phenomenon? Presented in a space that recreates this atmosphere of sonic chaos, the exhibition focuses on the content and form of contemporary uses of sound by various artists, who seize on tradition to propose new experiments.
