Music lover and cinephile Alain Vézina invites you on a tour of part of his extensive collection of video and audio documents related to the world of cinema and its music, as well as rare artifacts associated with the Festival du Cinéma International en Abitibi-Témiscamingue. A privileged witness to the development of the regional cultural scene since 1977, he acquired a taste for and nurtured his passion for film music and cinema by attending editions of the FCIAT from 1982 to 2022, as well as numerous festivals in Europe (Canne, Grenoble), the United States and Canada.
The 45 rpm vinyl collection on display tells the story of cinema and its music since 1954. In addition, 400 collector’s items will be offered for sale. From vinyl records to digital films, posters and festival memorabilia. For the last time in the region, Alain Vézina is offering a major part of his music collection on vinyl, 350 LPs and 1,800 45s, available for purchase.
A new initiative will also make its debut: the “pass to the next” sharing of award-winning films from the first 42 editions of the festival, most of which are difficult, if not impossible, to find on the market or viewing platforms.
