1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Listed as a heritage building, 144 Perreault Street East is one of the oldest buildings in Rouyn-Noranda. For 31 years, it has been home to Café-Bar l’Abstracto, an iconic venue on the local cultural scene. In 2025, the upper floor of the building—formerly a rooming house—will be reborn after two decades of vacancy and major renovations. True to their commitment to artists, owners Serge and Sébastien now welcome local creators by renting them space at affordable rates.
The open house is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to discover the place, talk with the artists, and feel the creative soul of the building. Come meet the artists who have set up their studios there! It’s a unique opportunity to talk with them and discover their creative world.
At the same time, a historical exhibition on the walls of the Café-Bar will showcase the archives of 144 Perreault Street East, in collaboration with the National Archives of Rouyn-Noranda. The opening of this exhibition will take place on Friday, September 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.
This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the living heritage, collective memory, and artistic effervescence that have animated this place for decades.
Presented by Café-Bar L’Abstracto and its occupants: Annie Boulanger, Valéry Hamelin, Violaine Lafortune, Ariane Ouellet, poet Nicolas Lauzon, and tattoo artists Julie Bastien, Isabelle Cossette, and Mélissa Poiri.
Open to all, no reservations required.
