A documentary rock opera about mother-daughter relationships.
Based on recorded testimonials, women of all ages talk about their mothers. Between the family kitchen and a rock band’s garage, the performers compose a score that resonates with maternal love and overbearingness. In the form of a rock opera, an electric violinist, a guitarist-drummer, and an opera singer perform a repertoire that oscillates between nursery rhymes, punk opera, and progressive rock about our mothers. They are accompanied by the voices of a choir of “daughters of” transmitted through eight speakers on stage.
Walking a fine line between discomfort and comfort, four women support each other and reminisce.
Presented by Les Zybrides and Mathilde Benignus.
