François Pignon, a discreet accountant in a rubber factory, is about to be fired. On the advice of his building neighbor, he decides to spread the rumor that he’s homosexual. Following this false coming-out, the management decided to keep Mr. Pignon on. He is suddenly seen as an outsider, even though he has not changed his behavior. It’s how others see him that will change.
