Les Printemps du MA – Printemps d’art in situ
Since its creation in 1968, the Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue has been teaching the arts. Thanks to this program, Rouyn-Noranda is home to a dynamic artistic ecosystem. In 1972, the Centre d’exposition, which became the Musée d’art de Rouyn-Noranda in 2017, was born. In 1998, the l’Écart artist-run center was born.
As a continuation of this action on the part of the college, the Musée d’art de Rouyn-Noranda invites a cohort of students in the Cégep’s visual arts program to create a work in the public space. This experience puts them in a position to reflect on the conditions of art appreciation in places open to all winds, and to the hazards of unforeseen action by the weather, animals and onlookers.
The works are created directly on site near the museum at Place de la Paix.
