As part of Joshua Schwebel’s residency, L’Écart is pleased to invite you to a lecture by the artist, which will conclude his stay in Rouyn-Noranda. During this presentation, Schwebel will share his artistic approach and his recent research on the complex links between cultural philanthropy, natural resource exploitation, and financial logic. By focusing on the often invisible mechanisms underlying arts funding, he offers a critical reading of arts institutions and their role in reproducing inequalities. This meeting will be an opportunity to reflect collectively on the political and ethical implications of contemporary cultural production.
The event is free and open to all.
This presentation will be given in English with French translation by Dominic Lafontaine.
