During this roundtable discussion in French and English, the artists featured in the Dialogue V exhibition will talk with the exhibition’s co-curators and the executive director and chief curator of the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-St-Paul about the challenges of presenting works created from sacred or regulated materials in a museum setting. Together, they will draw connections between artistic approaches and productions, between inspirations and the importance of territory in the art of women from the circumpolar circle.

Discovering Sámi art with Marte Lill Somby

A look back at the exhibition held in 2024 at Sámi Dáiddaguovddás in Karasjok, Norway. In this sharing-focused lecture, Sámi artist Marte Lill Somby presents her ecological approach to art and its diversity through 32 different works and projects. Between gathering and transformation, the artist works primarily with the bones and skin of whales, reindeer, moose, and other animals that live in the same territory as her. Meet a generous artist whose work is attracting increasing interest around the world.
