Workshop led by Violaine Lafortune
In this introductory workshop, artist Violaine Lafortune guided participants through the monotype printing technique. This type of print produces a unique printed work.
Who is Violaine Lafortune?
Violaine Lafortune’s artistic approach is based on the free use of scientific concepts to explore nature and human relationships. Geography, geology, biology and sociology fuel her practice. She takes up and twists the methods specific to these disciplines to discover phenomena from a new angle and reveal their poetic substance. She uses mediums that encourage movement, touch, repetition and participation. In this way, she creates sensitive works and experiences that invite us to take a fresh look at the natural and constructed systems that surround us.
“This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Quebec and the City of Rouyn-Noranda under the Entente de développement culturel.
