Donald Trépanier explores the challenge that the large format represents in the spatial organization of the image. An outstanding colorist, the artist draws from the key works of European art and recameras excerpts in the landscapes of Abitibi-Témiscamingue. A relationship of strangeness is established at the same time as a new look is forced on the real or pictorial landscapes that are cited in the works.
