The MA invites you from February 16 to 19 to Kerouac’s 1000 Voices Laboratory in the presence of Maxime Langlois. Occupation: press operator. For 4 days, he’ll set up his interactive translation, writing and printing workshop in Rouyn-Noranda.
Participants will be invited to participate in a vast work of ink and paper to celebrate the 100th birthday of Jack Kerouac. A rare chance to see and hear this mysterious machine swallow and spit out words. Jack’s words, digested, translated and triturated, transformed into leaflets, posters or manifestos in a mechanical clatter.
As a complement to the activity, an exhibition allows visitors to discover the world of the author, an iconic figure of the beat generation, an unclassifiable phenomenon of world literature. This mediation activity is a complement to the performative installation “Whoua”, created and produced by the Théâtre du Tandem and presented at Café Bar l’Abstracto, 144 Perreault Street East, from February 22 to 25, 2023.
