On March 16, 2023, the citizens of Rouyn-Noranda learned of the establishment of a buffer zone at the foot of the Horne Foundry in the Vieux-Noranda district, forcing the relocation of 200 families and the demolition of 87 buildings. The Noranda Ville Ouverte project was born of the urgent need to protect the heritage and history of this emblematic district. Its history, its experiences, the themes it addresses and the individual memories it has created are strong symbols, conducive to artistic creation.
In the tradition of the Zybrides’ committed creations of the past, come and discover the local artists taking part, the visual identity of the project, based on a work by a local artist, and the form the creation will take.
A socio-financing campaign on the La Ruche platform will be launched to help cover the costs of creating and distributing the project.
