LAURENT PAQUIN
CROCODILE DISTRAIT
Friday, April 5, 8 p.m.
Admission: $45
Despite its title, which evokes candor and naiveté, Crocodile Distrait’s humor is incisive, slobbering, corrosive, sometimes cynical, but always thoughtful. In this, his 5th solo show, Laurent Paquin claims to not have “easy happiness”. But that doesn’t stop him from reflecting on the question of happiness. Who’s happy? Why are we happy? How happy? And for how long? His previous show, Déplaire, marked a turning point in the comedian’s career, with its cruder, more direct humor. With Crocodile Distrait, Laurent confirms his desire to scratch more, to bite, to provoke… but with a smile that makes us want to forgive him in advance.
