AMBIENT SHOW
Bringing together thirteen dancers, singers and musicians on stage, Perles reaffirms PPS Danse’s desire to weave links between disciplines and to integrate several choreographic signatures. These multiple perspectives converge in a narrative that describes our world by evoking the themes of love, identity and territory, in different times and places.
This distinctive show, imagined by David Rancourt and Pierre-Paul Savoie, brings to life a few gems from the Quebec song repertoire, from the 1960s to today. Among these are Claude Léveillée’s La Scène and Richard Desjardins’ Señorita, which rub shoulders with texts by Lisa LeBlanc, Philémon Cimon and Milk and Bone. Thus, various melodic and choreographic writings are at one with the words and music to open a fruitful field of possibilities.
**Originally from Rouyn-Noranda, artistic director David Rancourt, who has not danced at the Théâtre du cuivre for nearly 20 years, makes a grand return with this magnificent show!
