Le POTLUCK LITTÉRAIRE, the Public Library’s new adult book club.
But what is it?
Each participant selects one or more books he or she would like to share, places them on the large table, and helps himself or herself according to his or her desires. This meeting will give rise to exchanges between passionate readers. Everyone will be able to discover and borrow books suggested by another participant.
*Shared books must be chosen from the library’s collection*.
Arrive a little early to search the rows for your favorites.
You’re free to speak up and explain why you’ve chosen this book for the sharing table. Your name will be asked to identify who is proposing this reading. Those who wish to do so can write information about the book, including why it is among the favorites.
This exchange will take place without judgment, in a spirit of benevolence.
The table will remain in place for the following day for those who are curious.
For the first meetings, no theme will be predetermined.
