The queen, who had hoped to become sole regent of Scotland, had ambitious plans for revenge. With the complicity of Edmond, one of Edward’s bastard sons, she hatches a Machiavellian plan aimed at sowing discord between Gloucester and York, and thus gaining supreme power.
