Here is a summary of the piece: After a bloody victory against Scottish insurgents seeking independence, King Edward of England divides the Kingdom of Scotland into three equal parts between his generals, Gloucester and York, and his wife, Goneril. The queen, who had hoped to become sole regent of Scotland, had ambitious plans for revenge. With the complicity of Edmond, one of Edward’s bastard sons, she hatches a Machiavellian plan aimed at sowing discord between Gloucester and York, and thus gaining supreme power.
