For their fifth studio offering, Jazz futon, due out in 2023, the musicians of Valaire return to their jazz roots. They are preparing a show that will live up to their reputation as a “party-band”, while at the same time featuring moments when they return to their instruments to flirt with their original jazz quintet. The result is a series of airy, danceable pieces that invite listeners to a living-room party.
Over the course of their albums, Kilojules, Luis Clavis, Tō, France and DRouin call on performers whose work they appreciate to enrich their creations, including the great Alan Prater (The Brooks) and singer Mel Pacifico, who will often take part in the group’s shows.
