The FME (Festival de musique émergente en Abitibi-Témiscamingue) has been promoting emerging and independent music for 20 years now. It gives regional, Quebec, Canadian and international artists the opportunity to perform in front of festival-goers thirsty for music and new sounds. Thanks to indoor and outdoor shows, thematic evenings, “5 à 7” and other original formulas such as several hidden shows, it animates and energizes the city of Rouyn-Noranda during the Labour Day long weekend. More than a dozen concert halls, cafés, restaurants, bars, an art gallery and an outdoor site completely designed in the image of the festival are taken over by the musical groups.
