Nature experiences, Other, Outdoor Activities, Sites and Attractions
Sometimes, after a road trip across Quebec or a busy week at work, the desire to stretch your legs becomes essential. Whether you’re a traveler or already live in Rouyn-Noranda, there are sports activities for everyone in our charming city. Put down your suitcases or leave your work clothes behind, and take some time to refresh your body and mind with your friends in Abitibi-Témiscamingue!
1. Hiking on our most beautiful trails…
It goes without saying that the proximity to nature is one of the things that makes our region so beautiful. It offers endless possibilities, providing access to moments of serenity, numerous tourist attractions, places to stay fit, and more.
In the heart of the city, there are various trails where you can walk in nature without traveling far, such as the hiking trails of the Kiwanis Agnico Eagle Recreation Area, the trails around Lake Rouyn, and the À fleur d’eau Botanical Park (where you can go for a run and explore its many nooks and crannies).
Heading out towards the rural areas, nature only gets more beautiful! Explore the magnificent trails of the Kekeko Hills or those of the splendid Aiguebelle National Park to enjoy breathtaking scenery!

2. How about a game of tennis with friends?
In the summer, rackets aren’t just for playing, but for hitting the ball back and forth with a friend. For a group, what better way to combine fun and exercise than a tennis match? Several tennis courts are located within the city limits, such as the Dallaire Tennis Court, the Mouska Tennis Court, and the Noranda Tennis Court.
3. Let’s ride!
Want to take your bike out and enjoy a little taste of freedom? Ride around Lake Osisko on the multi-use trail and pedal along the path surrounded by countryside, just like in your fondest childhood memories.
Don’t have a bike? RécréOsisko offers free rentals of various equipment such as bicycles, watercraft, and much more!

4. To socialize…
If you would like to meet new people, the Mudra sports center offers various group classes (yoga, Pilates, climbing, running). In addition to a climbing wall and a gym, the center also includes a café-bar area to end your workouts on a pleasant note. For more information, consult the Mudra schedule.
5. Stay in shape, even when you’re just passing through.
Even while traveling, you can maintain your fitness routine by purchasing a private session at one of our gyms. For example, Accrofit offers a $25 drop-in pass that gives you access to the entire gym during open workout hours.
6. For those hot days when you’re itching for a dip…
The sun is out and you’re itching for a swim? For those who love the feeling of warm sand, Kiwanis Beach is a supervised spot with lifeguards during the summer.

7. Birdie!
For golf enthusiasts, the town has two clubs: the Dallaire Municipal Golf Club and the Noranda Golf Club. It is possible to book 9- or 18-hole rounds without being a member.

8. Are you shooting or pointing?
If you’re looking to combine a friendly atmosphere with your physical activity, the À Fleur d’eau Botanical Park has a pétanque court with free access. It is also used by the Rouyn-Noranda Pétanque Club, which meets every evening from 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
9. Let’s get in the ring!
Want to blow off some steam and sharpen your reflexes? Try a session at the Rouyn-Noranda boxing club located in the basement of the Ukrainian Church. The club is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the summer from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

10. For locals looking for a long-term commitment…
For those who have just moved to the area or are looking for ways to fill their time, there are several sports clubs you can join on a long-term basis.
We sincerely hope this selection will meet your expectations. Other sporting activities await you. For more information, you can consult the Ville de Rouyn-Noranda recreation and sports directory.
