Cyclo-voie du Partage des eaux

Summer Season

Located between Rouyn-Noranda and Taschereau, this 56-km former rail line invites cyclists to immerse themselves in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue landscape. The stone dust trail is part of the Route verte.

*Please note that the Cyclo-voie is not accessible from one end to the other for an undetermined period due to repairs. Two sections are closed to traffic until further notice.

These are :

  • Section in Aiguebelle National park, from kilometers 33 to 38;
  • Section in the Abitibi-Ouest MRC section, from kilometers 38 to 55.

Information on the Rouyn-Noranda MRC section

At the start, the D’Alembert swamp welcomes you with its beavers and birdlife. The trail passes through breathtaking agricultural landscapes and leads to the Parc of Cléricy, a perfect spot for a well-deserved break. Playground and picnic areas are available in the park. Next, your path takes you through vast wetlands where beavers, ducks, snipe and herons live side by side. Bridges span rivers and streams, including the majestic Rivière Dufresnoy.

You can leave your vehicle in the D’Alembert, Cléricy or Destor park-and-ride lots:

  • Park-and-ride lot 1 km from d’Alembert, Route d’Aiguebelle
  • Parc de Cléricy
  • Rang du Parc in Destor

Distances:

  • From D’Alembert to Cléricy: round-trip distance: 26 km
  • Cléricy to Destor: round-trip distance: 22 km

For further details, please visit the Access to Outdoors website.

Opening period: Summer season until hunting season opens.

The bike path crosses an area where hunters are numerous. The city is therefore asking hikers and cyclists to stay off the path during the hunting season.

It is important to remember that the Cyclo-voie is reserved for foot traffic, bicycles and electric wheelchairs used by people with mobility impairments. Unless specifically authorized, all motorized traffic is prohibited on the bike path.
